The Intel-commissioned study, which surveyed senior decision-makers across multiple sectors, reveals a stark disconnect between robotic deployment plans and operational readiness. While robot fleets are expected to handle logistics, inspection, quality control, and manufacturing tasks, fewer than half of organizations have clear governance, maintenance, or workforce integration policies. This gap could slow returns on automation investments and delay the rollout of mixed human-robot teams in electronics assembly, warehouse operations, and industrial facilities where precision and uptime are critical, according to the study.
For electronics manufacturers, scaling robotics demands robust edge computing, sensing, and motion control hardware.
