SiPearl Rhea1 Processor Enters Production for Europe’s Exascale Supercomputer

SiPearl, a French fabless semiconductor company, announced that its first-generation processor Rhea1 is now in production and will power JUPITER, Europe’s first exascale supercomputer. The milestone underscores Europe’s push for semiconductor sovereignty in high-performance computing and AI.

SiPearl CEO Philippe Notton detailed the company’s strategy in an interview with eeNews Europe, emphasizing the importance of homegrown processors for supercomputing and AI workloads. Rhea1 is a high-performance, energy-efficient processor designed to meet the demands of exascale computing, which processes billions of calculations per second.
